Raiders QB Carr still talking with Saints; other NFL QB notes … Hard to know what exactly it means but Las Vegas QB Derek Carr is reportedly still in New Orleans at this hour visiting with the Saints for a second day. Carr has been given permission by the Raiders to explore trade options for himself late last month, but only with teams that agreed to Las Vegas’ compensation demands which implied that the Saints have at least accepted the Raiders terms, although at this time we still don’t know those are. As has been noted, the clock is ticking on the Raiders as they the contract extension Carr signed last year kicks in on February 15th when $40M in contract guarantees for the next two years kick in. If something isn’t worked out by next week, the Raiders are expected to simply release Carr, in the process saving themselves the bulk of those guarantees. However, the fact that they are talking for a second day suggests that it is at least more than a courtesy visit by Carr.
