Canes’ QB King injured in bowl … Truth is we have been kind of boycotting the bowls this year. We have no problem with the CFP playoff games later this week, but we just feel it is simply indefensible for so-called institutions of higher learning to have their students play in totally meaningless games in the middle of a devastating pandemic for a few extra shekels for their athletic departments. I mean the RoofClaim.com Bowl! Really. And it appears that one of those kids paid the price earlier this evening as Miami QB D’Eriq King suffered an apparent knee injury late in the first half of the Hurricanes’ bowl game – the fabled Cheez-It Bowl – with Oklahoma State. For those who missed it earlier this week, King, a 5th year senior who had transferred to Miami from Houston this summer, had announced he was going to take advantage of the NCAA’s free year waiver and return to school next fall, but if it’s an ACL, he can probably kiss that good-bye.
