While everyone around the NFL was still buzzing about Kevin White’s 4.35 40 clocking this morning, there were actually several other notable times in that second group of WRs. Indeed, diminutive J J Nelson of the now defunct Alabama-Birmingham program led all receivers with a 4.29, while Tyler Lockett of K-State had a 4.35, Tre McBride of William & Mary a 4.41, Ohio State big-play threat Devin Smith a 4.42 and Jaelen String of Arizona State a solid 4.44. Rangy 6-6, 238-pound Darren Waller of Georgia Tech was also very impressive clocking in at 4.46. Ty Montgomery of Stanford, though, may have been hoping for something better than a 4.55 clocking, while other guys who had somewhat disappointing times included Fresno State’s Josh Harper (4.64), Washington State’s Vince Mayle (4.67), and Michigan State’s Tony Lippett (4.62)
