#1 prospect enters draft

A&M DE Garrett; #1 prospect enters draft … Texas A&M junior DE Myles Garrett, the consensus top prospect overall for the 2017 draft, has reportedly confirmed that he will in fact be entering this year’s draft. Garrett is just one of several underclassmen to announce their plans for 2017 in the past few hours. Tennessee junior DE Derek Barnett, who likely will join Garrett in the top half of this year’s opening round, for example, didn’t make any formal announcement, but family sources report that they are in the process of interviewing agents. In fact, it was a busy day for Tennessee as junior WR Josh Malone, a mid-round candidate this year, did announce that he will be entering the draft, while OLB Jalen Reeves-Maybin confirmed that he will be entering the 2017 draft rather than take a redshirt after he missed most of the 2016 season with a shoulder injury. On the other hand, Florida State junior DT Derrick Nnadi and OLB Matthew Thomas, along with North Carolina CB M.J. Stewart announced they will be returning to school next fall.
