Draft likely moving

April 24, 2016

Draft likely finding new locale for 2017 … NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell indicated earlier this weekend that it is “very likely” that the draft will be held in a different city in 2017. After a 50-year run in New York, the draft was held in Chicago this year and last. And while the Chicago venue has been hugely [popular, it is appears that the league wants to move it around the country. It also does not appear that the NFL will have to go begging for sites. Denver and Atlanta, for example, have both expressed interest in hosting the draft as has Canton, the home of the NFL’s Hall of Fame. There has also been speculation that Los Angeles could be in play as the league wants to give the Rams every splash it can. A final decision on where the 2017 draft will be held is expected to be announced over the summer.
