Utes knock USC out of CFP; Buckeyes next up

Utes knock USC out of CFP; Buckeyes next up … Folks that went to bed a little early last night might be wondering why everyone in Ohio is so happy this morning. However, it appears that after apparently being knocked out of the college football playoff after last weekend’s loss to Michigan in THE game, the Buckeyes look to be pretty much back in after Southern California was crushed 47-24 by Utah in the Pac-12 title game in Las Vegas last night as the Trojans inability to tackle, which has been a problem all year, finally cost them. It also didn’t help that star QB Caleb Williams played much of the game on one leg after tweaking a hamstring on an electrifying 59-yard run early in the contest. Meanwhile, with Georgia and Michigan pretty much having wrapped up CFP berths win or lose in their respective conference title games, the final spot is TCU’s to win if they can hold off Kansas State in today’s Big XII championship game. A loss by the Frogs, though, and it would appear that Alabama is next in line for that final playoff spot. Should be an interesting day!
