USC QB Williams ‘coy’ on 2024 draft prospects … Not sure what else he could say at this time, but Southern California QB Caleb Williams, the consensus favorite to be the first player selected at the 2024 draft, was rather non-committal when asked in an ESPN interview about the upcoming draft. Williams, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner after throwing for over 4,500 yards and accounting for 52 TDs, including 42 through the air, last season, claimed there was still a chance that he would return to school for at least another year. Williams cited the fact that he’s really enjoying the college experience as the main reason although he also indicated that which NFL team had the first pick could influence his decision. Of course, in the end, there aren’t many people around the NFL who doubt that Williams will in fact be in the 2024 draft, but it does make for a little drama.
