UGA’s Smith sizzles running 40

UGA’s Smith sizzles running 40 … Georgia LB/ER Nolan Smith didn’t get to shine in the Dawgs run to the 2022 national championship as he missed the last half of the season with a pec injury. However, he made up for lost time today as he ran a 4.44 40 with a very quick 1.52 split. Smith led the way in the first group of DE/LB/ERs that just ran their 40s in a group that featured some pretty good unofficial times. Indeed, along with Smith other fast times were turned in by Robert Beal, Smith’s Georgia teammate, who had a 4.53 time, Tennessee’s Byron Young (4.51), Northwestern’ Ade Adebawore (4.54), Louisville’s YaYa Diaby (4.56). Meanwhile, among guys considered to be first round candidates, Isaiah Foskey of Notre Dame and Iowa’s Lukas VanNess both had solid 4..64 runs.  There were some disappointing times, though, as Mike Morris of Michigan couldn’t break 5-flat.
