UGA QB in fact done for season

December 23, 2024

UGA QB Beck has surgery; done for year … Georgia announced earlier today that QB Carson Beck will not play again this season after undergoing surgery on his damaged shoulder. Beck injured his elbow just before half time of the Bulldogs SEC championship game win over Texas. Doctors say the surgery went well and that Beck will begin throwing again in the spring. What isn’t clear is whether he’ll be rehabbing to be ready for an NFL training camp or a 6th season with the Bulldogs as he does have a year of eligibility remaining. Of course, the loss of Beck likely complicates Georgia’s chances in the CFP playoffs where they face Notre Dame in a quarter final game on January 1st in the Sugar Bowl. Beck will be replaced by sophomore Gunner Stockton who played well enough when he came off the bench to lead the Bulldogs to win over Texas in the SEC championship game, but the Sugar Bowl will in fact be his first career start. No pressure!!
