Two more underclassmen join draft

Two more underclassmen join draft … A day after putting up the best single game numbers of his career, Baylor junior WR K.D. Cannon anounced on twitter that he will be entering the 2017 draft. Cannon junior hauled in a career-best 14 catches for a career-high 228 yards and 2 TDs in the Bears’ 31-12 win over Boise State in yesterday’s Cactus Bowl. That gave Cannon 87 grabs for over 1,200 yards and 13 TDs for the season. The 6-0, 180-pound Cannon figures to be a late second-day prospect for the upcoming draft. While Cannon’s decision to enter the upcoming drafted was pretty much expected, Houston redshirt sophomore CB Howard Wilson raised a few eyebrows when he announced that he will also be entering this year’s draft. Wilson, though, is actually a 4th year RSO as he got a year of eligibility back after missing all but three games in 2015 with a leg injury. And Wilson could be something of a sleeper at the position this coming April. At 6-1, 185 he has the length NFL teams look for in a cover corner while he’s an accomplished ball hawker with 9 career picks including 5 this past season. Today’s announcement’s bring to 21 the number of underclassmen who have indicated in one way or another that they plan to enter the 2017 draft.
