Two more juniors enter draft; others stay home

Two more juniors enter draft; others stay home … Another couple of underclassmen have announced that they will be entering the 2019 draft including North Texas WR Jalen Guyton and Marshall FS Malik Gant. Guyton, a big play threat who had 48 catches for 765 yards this fall including 9 for scores, could get some late round consideration, while Gant will likely be looking for a free agent tryout. The addition of these two brings the number of underclassmen who have announced in one way or another that they will be entering the upcoming draft to 122. Perhaps more interesting is the fact that a number of other underclassmen announced today that they will be returning to school including several pretty good prospects including Missouri redshirt sophomore TE Albert Okwuegbunam, Texas junior FS Brandon Jones, Oregon LB Troy Dye and Stanford junior QB K. J. Costello. Others to say they are returning to school include Vanderbilt RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn, TCU OT Lucas Naing and Louisville DE Jon Greenard who will reportedly transfer to Florida. At the same time, Oregon State QB Jake Luton and North Carolina DE Brandon Fritts will take advantage of being granted an extra year of eligibility because of injury and will also return to school next fall. Underclassmen have until the end of the business day on Monday to file paper work with the NFL to be eligible for the upcoming draft.
