Top three picks unchanged; #2 Falcs clean house

Top three picks unchanged; #2 Falcs clean house … The three teams that came into the week sitting on the top 3 picks at the 2021 draft were it held this week all lost earlier today meaning there won’t be any change at the top of this year’s selection order, at least for this week. For the third time in four weeks, the Giants, who came into the week holding the #1 pick, took their game into the last minute, but for the third time in four weeks they came up on the short end of the scoreboard as they fell to 0-5 with a last-play 37-34 loss in Dallas. Atlanta also dropped to 0-5 with a 23-16 home loss to Carolina. Then after the game, the Falcons fired both head coach Dan Quinn and G.M. Tom Dimitroff. Meanwhile, the Jets made it three remaining winless teams with a 30-10 home loss to Arizona. As a result, if the draft were held this week, the Giants would hold onto the first pick, followed by Atlanta at #2 and the Jets at #3. On the other hand, Houston got its first win this year with a 30-14 rout of Jacksonville to drop out of the top 5. Who moves up to the 5th spot, though, won’t be confirmed until after tomorrow’s Monday night game between New Orleans and the LA Chargers. An upset win by the Chargers and Washington will have the 5th pick, but a Chargers loss would push them up to #5 with Washington 6th.
