Top Boiler LB done for year … Purdue has confirmed that ILB Markus Bailey, the Boilermakers top prospect for the 2020 draft, will miss the rest of the season because of a knee injury suffered at practice this week. It is believed Bailey tore an ACL and will require surgery. The 6-1, 240-pound Bailey, a fifth-year senior, recorded 14 total tackles in the first two games of the season; he also had over 200 tackles over the course of the past two seasons including 2018 when he led Purdue with 115. Bailey also missed much of the 2015 season with an earlier ACL injury and therefore will be eligible to apply to the NCAA for a 6th year of eligibility, but he has yet to confirm that is what he intends to do. When healthy, Bailey was considered to be a mid-to-late round prospect. He lacks ideal athleticism, but is one of those prototype MLB types with great instincts and a terrific motor.
