Texans fire GM Gaine

Texans fire GM Gaine … In something of a stunner, Houston has fired general manager Brian Gaine barely a year and a half into a 5-year term that began with an 11-5 record and a playoff berth in his first season on the job. Gaine took over the job in January 2018 after former G.M. Rick Smith took a leave of absence to help take care of his wife who had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Houston’s football operations will be led by Chris Olsen, the team’s senior vice president of football administration, on an interim basis until a replacement can be hired.
