TEs fast in 40 timing … They had to wait a while today to get on the field, but the TEs did not disappoint when they finally did get to run their 40-yard dashes earlier this evening. In fact, of the 13 TEs who did run, 11 clocked in at under 4.75 seconds. The group was led by Miami’s Will Mallory (4.54) and Iowa’s Sam LaPorta (4.59) both of whom were under 4.6. Of note, Notre Dame’s Michael Mayer, who has generally been considered the top prospect at the position with possibly top 10-15 potentially ‘only’ ran a 4.72. Also, for the record, Utah’s Dalton Kincaid, the other TE getting plenty of first-round buzz, did not run because of a back injury.
