Staying in school

Staying in school … GBN Investigative College Football Reported Larry Parker reports that at least three players who had been considered half way decent second-tier options for the 2019 draft have been granted extra years of eligibility and appear to be returning to school for a 6th year of eligibility. Boise State DE David Moa, for example, has been granted a 6th year of eligibility by the NCAA after he missed virtually all of the 2018 season because of an ankle injury. At the same time, Minnesota RB Rodney Smith is on the Gophers’ 2019 roster implying that he has been approved for the 6th year medical redshirt season that he requested. Meanwhile, while the medical redshirt application for former Eastern Washington QB Gage Gubrud is still pending with the NCAA, he has announced that if he’s approved to come back for 2019, he will transfer to Washington State where he could pile up some impressive numbers in the Cougars wide-open offense.
