The implication is that the Spartans’ standout junior LT Jack Conklin, who left Saturday’s game with a knee injury, will play again sometime this season, although he offered no other details on the nature of the injury or when Conklin might actually return. Conklin is considered to be a top 20-type prospect for the upcoming draft. There is a similar story for Minnesota CB Briean Boddy-Calhoun, who is being listed as questionable for this week’s game with Northwestern. Boddy-Calhoun, a second-day prospect for 2016, was forced to leave last week’s win over Ohio with an undisclosed knee injury, but an MRI revealed that the All-Big Ten corner will not need surgery. And continuing the theme, the folks at Missouri are hopeful they have a similar story regarding MLB Kentrell Brothers, who currently leads the country in tackles. Brothers was carted off the field late in last week’s loss to Kentucky with what looked to be a ‘significant’ ankle injury. However, it now appears that Brothers could be a game-time decision when the Tigers play South Carolina this weekend.
