It somehow seems appropriate to name a final All-Star team for the nation’s elite All-Star Game. Not only was the game decided by 1-point, on a failed 2-point conversion play, but the South won despite losing the turnover battle 5-1. Teams are not supposed to win games where they post a turnover margin of -4. So the vast majority of the home crowd went home happy from an action packed game that the “home team” won.
So let’s give it one more whirl and I will tell you who I thought were the best players when I combined their practice efforts with their game performances. Therefore, players who were injured and did not play at all in the actual game could not make this team. That eliminated several standout South practice players due to an incredible rash of injuries from that team.
QB DAVIS WEBB CAL 6’5/229 MOP for game. Showed all week that he can really spin the ball.
RB KAREEM HUNT TOLEDO 5’11/208 N/MVP Showed excellent burst,as well as catching ability.
FB FREDDIE STEVENSON FLORIDA ST 6’/236 Showed he was more than just a great blocker.
WR ZAY JONES E. CAROLINA 6’2/202 Led N in receptions & scored only TD. Best WR all week.
WR COOPER KUPP E WASHINGTON 6’2/198 Not far behind ZAY. Small school guy, big time player.
WR JOSH REYNOLDS TEXAS A&M 6’3/187 Long, lean guy who can go long & high for catches.
TE OJ HOWARD ALABAMA 6’6/249 Best prospect at this venue. Great weapon and a solid blocker.
T ANTONIO GARCIA TROY 6’6/293 Disappointed with short arms, but improved all week on field.
T ZACH BANNER USC 6’8/361 Has limitations, but works hard and overpowers people in run game.
G DION DAWKINS TEMPLE 6’4/317 Moved inside to OG and controlled DL all week.
G DAN FEENEY INDIANA 6’4/304 Was big reason North ran the ball all day long.

Looks to me like there are 4-5 First Rounders in this group, plus TRE’DAVIOUS WHITE who was injured and could not play in the game. DAVIS WEBB/QB may have made the most money this past week showing his big arm and field generalship.
1st Round possibilities:
RASUL DOUGLAS CB #13
DAN FEENEY OG #67
O.J. HOWARD/TE #88
ZAY JONES WR #7
OBI MELIFONWU S #20
TRE’DAVIOUS WHITE CB #18
JORDAN WILLIS DE #75
Throw in
DAVIS WEBB QB #7 just because in today’s NFL QB are so over-valued, especially if your team doesn’t already have one.
Another great week overall in Mobile. Once we all got past so many of the big names not coming because of injury and agent advise, it always pretty much turns out that way.
Now on to the Combine, in March this year.
Cheers
