Saints, Eagles shake up first with multiple picks trade … Just when you thought it was safe to take care of some regular business Philadelphia and New Orleans shook up this year’s opening round with a major trade of picks in which the Saints will get two of the Eagles’ current first round picks – #s 16 and 19 in exchange for what was the Saints #1 pick – the 18th overall – and a #1 in 2023 and a #2 in 2024. To complete the deal this year, the Saints will also get a 6th round pick (#194) from the Eagles while Philadelphia will also get a late third (#101) and a 7th (#237). In essence, the Eagles traded one of their first rounders this year to the Saints for a #1 next year and a future #2 which could even out the cap hit that first round picks entail for Philadelphia. More to the point, it would certainly look like the Saints are now positioned to possibly trade up for a QB in this year’s opening round if they so desire. Stay tuned!
