Not a whole lot to get excited about at the Rutgers pro day. NFL personnel people, though, were looking forward to seeing star WR/KR Janarion Grant run. Grant had emerged as one of the best return men in college football early in his career, but struggled in 2017 after suffering a knee injury. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear as if Grant is all the way back as his best 40 time was just 4.57 seconds running at 5-9, 177. He also had a disappointing vertical of just 22 inches, although his 22 reps in the BP was excellent for a guy his size. Same story for RB Rob Marrtin (5-11, 210) who had 19 BP reps, but was only able to clock a 4.66 40. If there was a breakout player at the RU pro day it may have been DT Sebastian Joseph, a 6-3, 299-pounder, who managed 24 BP reps, had a 31.5 vertical and ran the 40 in around 5.00 flat.
