QBs go 1-2-3 and 4 in post-combine projection

QBs go 1-2-3 and 4 in post-combine projection … Clearly with the #1 pick overall changing hands in a major trade, it is time to update our projection and in this one its just not hard to see QBs going with the first four picks. Indeed, Carolina, which just acquired the #1 pick overall from Chicago, and Houston, which selects second are pretty much committed to taking QBs; so is Indianapolis with the 4th pick. At the same time, we just can’t see Arizona staying at #3 with so many other teams likely to want to move up to get one of the top 3-4 QBs. In this mock, we have them trading with Las Vegas for the #7 pick, plus other considerations, but other teams like Atlanta, and even Seattle, which currently sits at #5, might also be interested. One of the interesting aspects of doing a mock with projected trades is that it can give one an idea what the team that moved down might be looking at. Indeed, in this mock, we have the Cardinals selecting Texas Tech DE Tyree Wilson, a guy we have sen projected to Arizona at #3, at #7. Meanwhile, the Bears, at #9, get their choice of the top offensive linemen in this year’s draft. In this mock we have them sticking pretty close to home with the selection of Northwestern G/T Peter Skoronski, but Ohio State’s Paris Johnson and Broderick Jones of Georgia could also be very much in play.
