QB Golson heads north; signs with CFL Ti-Cats

Former Irish/Noles’ QB Golson heads north; signs with CFL’s Ti-Cats … Former Notre Dame and later Florida State QB Everett Golson, an undrafted free agent after the 2016 NFL draft, has been signed by Hamilton of the CFL and placed on the Ti-Cats’ practice roster.  Golson started his college career with Notre Dame where he lead the Irish to the 2013 BCS Championship game, but he didn’t play the following season because of academic issues and ultimately finished his career at Florida State last fall when he played started 8 games. Golson had tryouts with both Indianapolis and Philadelphia but was not offered a contract by either. Golson is the second prominent undrafted QB to head north this spring after Vernon Adams of Oregon signed with Montreal last month. Adams is currently listed as the #4 QB on the Alouettes’ roster.
