USC QB Darnold up on busy pro day schedule … It’s ‘D’ Day on what will be another busy day on the annual pro day schedule. And the ‘D’ stands for Darnold as in Southern California QB Sam Darnold who will be working out with his Trojans’ teammates at the USC pro day later today. Good news, the NFL Network will reportedly be covering the event live starting at Noon ET. There will also be a huge crowd at field level at the Southern Cal event as Darnold is a legitimate candidate to be the first player selected this year. The interest in Darnold is heightened by the fact that he did not throw at the combine. We already know that Cleveland and the Giants, who have the 1st and 2nd picks respectively this year, will have full contingents in L.A. today. In fact, both teams worked out UCLA QB Josh Rosen yesterday, while Cleveland won the right to take Darnold to dinner last night. Both teams are also believed to have private workouts scheduled with Darnold. One can also expect Denver and the Jets to be out in force. The Southern Cal workot, though, isn’t the only show in town today, as there are also pro days scheduled at Georgia, Boston College, Pittsburgh and Western Michigan later today. Then it will be Ohio State, Notre Dame and Stanford scheduled for Thursday and Michigan and Michigan State set to go Friday.
