QB Chambliss likely back at Ole Miss for year … We neglected to mention the fact that it appears that QB Trinidad Chambliss will be back at Mississippi this coming fall after the Mississippi Supreme Court denied a petition by the NCAA to appeal the court’s ruling that Chambliss could continue to play while the the court addressed the situation. That means the Chambliss case will continue, but it’s unlikely to be concluded before the end of next season. Chambliss had appealed to the NCAA for an extra year of eligibility claiming that he had not played one year at Ferris State for medical reasons, but the NCAA had ruled that there was no evidence that was the reason he had sat out the year and therefore he was out of eligibility. Chambliss, though, won a reprieve in state court which allowed while they reviewed the case. Chambliss, of course, emerged as one of the stars of college football last year after he transferred from DII Ferris State. He led Ole Miss to the CFP playoffs
Chambliss’ expected eligibility for 2026 looms large over the SEC and college football, as he was one of the breakout players in the sport last season. He led Ole Miss to a pair of College Football Playoff wins after transferring from Division II Ferris State and ultimately finished 3rd in Heisman Trophy voting; he also was being thought as potentially one of the top 3-4 QB prospects for the 2026 draft, despite being barely 6-0 feet. However, he’ll now be in the somewhat more crowded 2027 draft QB class.
