pro day wrap

March 31, 2021

Pro day wrap … It really was a rather amazing day on today’s pro day circuit with some truly outsanding performances from top prospects like LSU WR Ja’Marr Chase and Florida TE Kyle Pitts. We have finally been able to post full reports for the pro days at LSU, Florida and Notre Dame. However, these weren’t the only really newsworthy stories of the day. Over at Kentucky, ILB Jamin Davis, who was already one of the fastest risers in the 2021 draft, put on what may have been the show of the day. Remember he’s a LB as Davis, who measured in at 6-3, 234, had a 42-inch vertical and a 11-inch long jump and then ran a 4.49 40 that some teams reportedly had under 4.4. In fact, it was like they went to a basketball school for a football pro day and a track meet broke out as both Wildcat CBs Kelvin Joseph and Brandin Echols ran in the 4.35 range. Meanwhile, Wake Forest DE Carlos Basham, one of the top second-tier edge rushers in this draft, also had a very good day. Measuring in at 6-3, 274, Basham ran the 40 in 4.65 seconds, had a 34-inch vertical and very good times in the agility tests.
