Irish pro day update … Not surprisingly, all 32 teams were at the Notre Dame pro day, although the only senior exec (or head coach) that appears to have been in attendance was Indianapolis G.M. Chris Ballard. However, there were a bunch of position coaches in attendance including at least a half a dozen OL coaches who were there no doubt to check out OF Quenton Nelson and OT Mike McGlinchey. And Nelson and McGlinchey both reportedly were strong in the positional drills, but somewhat surprisingly neither ran the 40 after they also passed on the sprint at the combine. Unless they do so at a private workout, which is unlikely, teams really aren’t going to have times on either guy, although it very well may not matter. Nelson reportedly spent a lot of time at the pro day with the rep from Chicago, while he reportedly went to dinner last evening with the Giants. Meanwhile, RB Josh Adams, who did not work out at the combine because of a foot injury, had a nice outing. Running at 6-2, 215, Adams posted an unofficial 40-clocking of 4.48 seconds, while he had a 34″ vertical, a 10-2 long jump, along with a very quick time of 6.75 seconds in the 3-cone drill which would have been one of the fastest at the position at the combine. The bigger news for Adams, though, may have been reports that he may require surgery on the foot.
