NFL teams still waiting on word of draft format … There are only 18 days to go until the draft and teams around the league are still waiting to hear what format the draft will take in the wake of the current pandemic. As noted the other day, the league has told all teams that they will either be allowed to draft from their facilities or from a remote site, i.e., their homes. The league currently is trying to determine which approach will be more feasible, although most teams appear to be resigned to the likelihood that they’ll be drafting from their homes given that just about every team is in a state with a ‘stay-at-home’ order. Indeed, most teams are already setting up for that contingency. Of course, they are all also trying to deal with having to gather draft-related information electronically. The following are a couple of articles published over the weekend that address some of these issues including one from the Detroit Free Press documenting what the process has been like for Michigan State DE Kenny Willekes, a third day prospect for this month’s draft. Here’s another article on how the LA Rams are adapting and another describing how the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coping and yet another on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
