More top prospects rankings posted

More top prospects rankings posted … For those that haven’t seen them, a couple of prominent sources have posted lists of their top prospects for the 2019 draft. Pro Football Focus, for example, posted a listing of the top 32 guys for the upcoming draft, while Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks, two of the more connected draft analysts out there, posted their top 25 prospects for 2019. Interestingly, both have Oregon QB Justin Herbert rated as the #2 top prospect overall behind Ohio State DE Nick Bosa. That despite the fact that their continue to be reports – the latest from CBS Sports – that Herbert likely won’t enter the draft, but rather will return to Eugene for his senior season next fall, in part, so he can play a year with his younger brother who will join the Ducks next summer. For his part, though, Herbert isn’t saying anything, at least publicly. In an interview with a local paper earlier today, for example, he claimed he hasn’t ‘thought for three seconds’ about his looming decision. Okay! Meanwhile, the one name that kind of jumps out from the two lists above as being a little under the draft radar is Florida junior DE/OLB Jachai Polite, an emerging star for the Gators who is listed as the 12th and 21st best overall prospects on the two lists respectively. For the record, Polite is a 6-2, 242-pound edge rusher with reported 4.60 type speed who has 7 sacks in the Gators first 7 games to date this fall.
