More college injury updates

More college football injury updates … Amid the angst at Alabama after the devastating injury to star QB Tua Tagovailoa, there was a little bit of good news for the banged up Tide. Tagovailoa, who is out for the year with a dislocated hip suffered in yesterday’s win at Mississippi State, wasn’t the only potential Tide first rounder to be hurt this week. Both DT Raekwon Davis and WR Henry Ruggs were also forced to leave yesterday’s game, but it does not appear that either injury was serious. Davis reportedly suffered a sprained ankle, while Ruggs was sidelined with bruised ribs. It is not known yet, though, how long Davis or Ruggs will be out of the lineup. Alabama has its annual late season ‘breather’ game next weekend against FCS Western Carolina before closing out the regular season at Auburn the following week. Meanwhile, rising Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb did not play at all in yesterday’s dramatic comeback win at Baylor. The speedy Lamb, who is currently #2 on the GBN positional ranking and the 11th ranked prospect overall on the GBN Big Board, warmed up before the game and was in uniform on the sidelines in the first half, although he never had his helmet, and then was in street clothes for the second half. The school never actually listed Lamb as injured and haven’t said anything officially, but it is believed he may have been concussion protocol. There is also still no official word on the status of rising Boise State junior DE Curtis Weaver, the Mountain West Conference’s career sack leader, did not play in the second half of the Broncos’ win over New Mexico yesterday. Weaver, the #5 DE on the GBN positional ranking and the 62nd rated prospect overall who is 3rd in the country with 12.5 sacks this fall, needed help to get off the field after colliding with an opponent before returning to the sidelines later in the game with his foot in a walking boot.
