Mock Draft with a Twist

By | February 11, 2015

OK, since I don’t like Mocks but lots of site followers like to dissect them I would like to present a MOCK DRAFT with a Combine twist to it. I’m going to hijack the PACKERS franchise for a day, and propose a deal to Mr/ Goodell as well. National Scouting purports one of the main goals of the annual Scouting COMBINE is to have every player present for the upcoming Draft. In actuality the record this century says they will miss on about 32 guys, or one full round of the Draft. After looking at this years list of invitees and the resultant invite snubs I’m making a deal for the PACKERS Draft. I will conduct the PACKERS Draft as follows:

I will use the PACKERS actual Pick slots in the first 3 rounds. Then I will take 6 more picks from the entire pool of uninvited players. I think I’d come out ahead of the game in that manner. The first 3 round picks will come from the GBN Big Board at rankings within 3 spots better, or anyone ranked lower on the Board as I see fit. After those 3 players are selected I will select the non-Combine invitees.

Round 1 Pick 30 BENARDRICK McKINNEY/ILB/MISSISSIPPI STATE

Round 2 Pick 62 CLIVE WALFORD/TE/MIAMI

Round 3 Pick 94 JAQUISKI TARTT/SS/SAMFORD

Top 6 Non-Combine Selections
DONIEL GAMBRELL/OT/NOTRE DAME COLLEGE
XAVIER WILLIAMS/NT/NORTHERN IOWA
HENRY COLEY/LB/VIRGINIA
ERICK DARGAN/S/ST/OREGON
RAY DREW/DE/GEORGIA
MALCOLM BUNCHE/T/G/UCLA

If TED THOMPSON sees this he’ll be back from vacation tomorrow, bright and early. Relax TED this Mock fantasy land. You do the real heavy lifting.
