Michigan takes two hits

December 1, 2022

Michigan takes two hits … Literally just hours before they are scheduled to played Purdue in the Big Ten conference championship game, Michigan got two doses of bad news. On the one hand, star RB Blake Corum will reportedly undergo surgery to repair a knee issue and obviously won’t be playing this weekend. There is no word, though, at this time what the actual seriousness of the injury is and how long he could be sidelined. Corum is currently rated the #6 back on the GBN positional board. On the other hand, rising DT Mazi Smith will play this weekend, but will be under a major cloud as he has reportedly been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a felony, stemming from a traffic stop in the first week of October. For now, Smith, #10 among DTs on the GBN positional board, is being allowed to keep playing by the team, but this is obviously a situation that bears watching.
