Mayfield crowd heads west to check out QB Rosen … It seems as if results from today’s pro day at UCLA featuring top 5 QB prospect Josh Rosen are being sent across the country via pony express because there’s much available yet. It does appear however that most of the NFL personnel people who were at the Oklahoma pro day yesterday to see Baker Mayfield were in L.A. today to watch Rosen. That included Denver G.M. John Elway and head coach Vance Joseph, NY Jets G.M. Mike Maccagnan and Cincinnati head coach Marvin Lewis. It also means that neither Cleveland nor the NY Giants were represented by any senior execs, athough both those teams are expected to hold private workouts with Rosen. And the fact that most of the NFL’s big hitters who were at the Oklahoma yesterday didn’t hang around for the Oklahoma State had to be a little disappointing for OSU QB Mason Rudolph, one of the top second tier passers in this year’s draft, who was on the field for the Cowboys’ pro day today. It wasn’t all bad news, though, for Rudolph as Pittsburgh G.M. Kevin Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin came all the way from Virginia Tech yesterday and spent much of the day watching Rudolph. Remember, Ben Roethlisberger is getting near the end of his illustrious career and the Steelers really don’t have an heir apparent anywhere in sight.
