Luck-less Colts lock down QB situation

Luck-less Colts lock down QB situation … When former Indianapolis QB Andrew Luck shocked the NFL community last week by announcing he’s retiring at just 29, it appeared that the Colts would likely be looking at the position early at the upcoming draft. However, the Colts appear to have other ideas. Indeed, in the aftermath of the Luck retirement, Colts’ officials were effusive in their praise of back-up Jacoby Brissett whom they called ‘the man’ in their new situation. And the Colts backed up those brave words today by signing Brissett to a two-year, $30M extension including $20M in guarantees. That gives the Colts a two-year window to evaluate Brissett as a full-time NFL starter and likely means that at least for 2020 they’ll be looking at other positions. For good measure, the Colts also signed Brian Hoyer to a new 3Y, $12M deal to back-up Brissett after he was released by New England over the weekend.
