LSU LB; Butkus finalist out for year with knee … LSU LB Kendell Beckwith, one of five finalists for this year’s Butkus Award to annually to the best linebacker in the nation, will not play Thursday when LSU hosts Texas A&M and could miss the Tigers’ eventful bowl game, because of an undisclsoed knee injury suffered in the team’s loss to Florida last weekend. Beckwith, a second-day prospect for the 2017 draft – he’s the 4th rated LB on the GBN positional board and the 85th overall prospect on the GBN Big Board, leads LSU with 91 including 6 for loss along with four pass breakups. The other finalists for the Butkus Award, which will be announced on December 6th, include Reuben Foster of Alabama, Jarrad Davis of Florida, Josey Jewell of Iowa and Vanderbilt’s Zach Cunningham.
