La Tech DT gets pro day attention … Not since our old pal Billy Ryckman was a 10th round pick by Atlanta way back in 1977 has there been such a pre-draft buzz coming out of Louisiana Tech after DT Milton Williams turned in a really quite remarkable performance yesterday. Williams isn’t the biggest DT out there at 6-3, 284 with shortish 31.5-inch arms, but he may very well be the most athletic after reportedly running the 40 in 4.62 seconds, posting a 39-inch vertical, along with very quick times of 4.25 seconds in the short shuttle and 6.87 in the 3-cone drill. There are WRs out there that would be more than happy with those numbers. For the record, Williams was a two-year starter for the Louisiana Tech where he had 10 sacks and 19 total tackles for loss over the past couple of years. For the Bulldogs Williams was an interior DT in a modified 4-3, but has the physical tools to perhaps blossom into the true 5T DE in a 3-4 who can kick inside on passing downs at the next level.
