Jets name Douglas G.M … The New York Jets announced earlier today that they have hired Joe Douglas to be their new general manager replacing Mike Maccagnan, who was fired three weeks ago. Douglas, reportedly a close ally of Jets’ head coach Adam Gase, had been VP of player personnel in Philadelphia. Douglas reportedly signed a 6-year deal, although he probably doesn’t want to get too comfy in his new surroundings as he will be the Jets’ fourth GM in the past eight years.
