Jags clinch one of picks 1-2

January 2, 2022

Jags clinch one of top 1-2 picks … Jacksonville left nothing to chance this afternoon in New England as they lost 50-10 to the Patriots to clinch at least one of the first two picks at the 2022 draft. In fact, the Jags will clinch the first overall pick if Detroit wins at Seattle in one of this afternoon’s late games. On the other hand, the Lions will also wrap up a top two pick if they lose to the Seahawks today. For the record, Houston which is currently sitting on the third overall pick, is also playing in a late game, so we really can’t confirm any other picks at this point. What we can say is that the Giants, who have been sitting on the 5th pick for weeks, also looked like they were in full tanking mode this afternoon as they were embarrassed 29-3 by the Bears in Chicago, in a game in which they had negative passing yardage. And it looked like they would be rewarded as the Jets, who have the 4th pick, led Tampa Bay all afternoon, but alas, a last-minute Tom Brady TD pass doomed the Jets to yet another loss.
