Mom maybe knows best!! … There has been a bit of buzz swirling around the playoff bound Alabama program as to whether star junior MLB Mack Wilson will enter the upcoming draft or return for his senior season. There were hints last week that Wilson, likely one of the top 2-3 MLBs off the board were he to enter the draft, was leaning toward returning, but he tried to downplay that saying that he was “just focused on this next game and hopefully we get to the championship, that game, and then after that I’ll sit down with my family and make the best decision and do what’s best for me” although he did add when asked to clarify whether or not he’s already made a decision about his future “as far as I know I’m here.” However, Mack’s mother left little room for interpretation when she told the Montgomery Advertiser that it is Wilson’s ‘plan is to return for his senior year because he has unfinished business, meaning he did not get the award that he was aiming to get, so he said he’s going to focus on his degree as well as the award he’s trying to get his senior year.” So there! And Wilson may not be the only star SEC MLB to return for the 2019 season. LSU’s Devin White, the consensus top prospect at the position is also saying publicly that he’s will make his decision after the Tigers’ bowl game – they play UCF in the Fiesta – but there was a piece in the local press last week quoting at least one teammate saying that he intends to return for his senior year.
