Is Jerry J thinking about call for Jimmy G … That’s the buzz around the league this morning after Dallas QB Dak Prescott was injured late in last night’s loss to Tampa Bay. Prescott will be back later in the season, but will require surgery to repair a thumb injury and is expected to miss the next 6-8 weeks which could be too late to salvage the season. The sentiment around the NFL when San Francisco didn’t move veteran QB Jimmy Garoppolo prior to the start of the season was that it might be better for the 49ers to wait until closer to the trade deadline just in case any contender were to lose their starter to injury. Enter the Cowboys. Of course, the 49ers just might be having second thoughts about trading Garoppolo at all after Trey Lance was ineffective in their season opening 19-10 loss to Chicago. Lance completed less than 50% of his pass attempts with a pick, although in his defense the game was played in a swamp. Stay tuned!
