Horns’ WR Humphrey enters draft

January 8, 2019

‘Horns’ WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey enters draft … Rising Texas junior WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey announced earlier today that he will be forgoing his senior season and declaring for the 2019 draft. And Humphrey figures to an interesting prospect. Indeed, he’s a full-sized 6-4, 225 – in fact we be interested in seeing Big’Jordan – with projected 4.50 speed  which he flashed this past season when he caught 86 catches for almost 1,200 yards and 9 TDs. Ironically, most scouts had expected Humphrey’s former Texas teammate Collin Johnson to be the ‘Horns’ junior WR to enter this year’s draft, however, Johnson opted to stay in school while Jordan will be the one going pro. For the record, Humphrey is the 115th underclassman to indicate in one way or another that they will be entering this year’s draft. At the same time, a number of other juniors, including Florida State QB Deondre Francois, Ohio State WR K.J. Hill, South Carolina WR Bryan Edwards, USF TE Mitch Wilcox, West Virginia OT Colton McKivitz, former Virginia Tech Trevon Hill who will transfer for 2019, along with a quartet of Auburn Tigers including DE Marlon Davidson, CB Javaris Davis and safeties Daniel Thomas and Jeremiah Dinson, as well as a pair of LSU Tigers in LB Mike Divinity and DT Breiden FFehoko, have all indicated that they will be staying in school. However, none was considered to be more than a later round prospect. GBN Investigative College Football Analyst Larry Parker contributed to this report.
