Vols QB Hooker lost for year … Tennessee has confirmed what just about everybody feared last night. Star QB Hendon Hooker did indeed tear an ACL when he fell awkwardly while trying to make a cut late in the Vols’ loss to South Carolina. Hooker was one of the top Heisman favorites this year and was considered to be a potential opening round prospect for the upcoming draft. Needless to say the injury comes at the worst possible time for Hooker who will obviously miss the combine and pre-draft testing. However, given the recovery time frame for an ACL injury is around 9 months, it is possible that he could return in time for the start of next season.
