Happy pre-draft Easter … Here’s hoping everyone has a very relaxing Easter! Because its going to get real busy real soon with the draft now just 4 days away. At least for now, though, the league appears to be locked down tight as a drum. Normally on the Sunday before the draft, the local papers from around the NFL would be filled with updated draft news, information and rumors; today, though, mostly crickets. In fact, through the whole process there has been barely a hint of any serious trade talks. A number of GMs in their pre-draft pressers did suggest. though, that they expect trade discussions to heat up this week in the days before the draft. Meanwhile, its seems pretty likely barring a major upset that the first two players to be selected on Thursday will be QB Cam Ward by Tennessee and WR/CB Travis Hunter by Cleveland. However, it could be crapshoot after that. The NY Giants, who have the 3rd pick overall, had been thought to have settled on DE Abdul Carter after QB Shedeur Sanders’s somewhat underwhelming pro day earlier this month, but the Giants took a full contingent of senior staff to Colorado this past Thursday for a private workout with Sanders and team’s don’t travel half way across the country a week out from the draft to look at a player they aren’t really interested in. And which way the Giants will have a hug impact on how the rest of the top 10 unfolds this coming Thursday and beyond. Stay tuned!
