Giants trade JPP to Bucs

BOOM! Giants trade DE JPP to Bucs for picks … In a bit of a shocker that no one really saw coming, the Giants have traded DE Jason-Pierre Paul to Tampa Bay. In exchange the Giants will get the Bucs 3rd round pick – #69 – while the teams will flip 4th rounders with the Giants getting #108 and Tampa Bay #102. With the Giants switching to a 3-4, Pierre-Paul really didn’t have a position with the Giants; they will also absorb something of a cap hit this year, but he’ll be off the books next year when they have to resign WR Odell Beckham and safety Landon Collins. Pierre-Paul becomes the second major addition at DE for the Bucs after they signed Vinny Curry away from Philadelphia earlier this month. DE had been the Bucs major need heading into the off-season and they still may address the position with the 7th pick this coming April, but the addition of Curry and JPP gives them some flexibility to look at other areas also.
