German WR wows at pro day … NFL.com is reporting that the NFL is abuzz about the workout of German Football League WR Moritz Boehringer. Boehringer, who measured in at 6-4.5, 227, participated in today’s pro day at Florida Atlantic where he 0ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash on grass, had a vertical of 39 inches, a 10-11 broad jump, a 4.10-second short shuttle, and a 6.65-second three-cone drill; he also had 17 lifts on the bench press. In fact, all those numbers would have been top 5 among combine participants at the position. Boehringer then worked out as both a WR and TE in positional drills where he reportedly caught the ball well. And before anyone gets too carried away, Boehringer also brings new meaning to the concept of coming from a lower level of competition as the German league likely isn’t much better than high school in the U.S.
