Gator QB Trask out of Senior Bowl

Gator QB Trask out of Senior Bowl … One of the players pro scouts wanted most to see at this week’s Senior Bowl was Florida QB Kyle Trask. They won’t get that chance, though, as Trask has been ruled out this week’s activities in Mobile because of an ankle injury. While its a disappointment for NFL scouts, its probably even a bigger disappointment for the player himself. For most of the season, Trask had been considered to be one of the 5-6 top QBs in the 2021 draft class who were virtual locks to be selected in the top half of the opening round. However, despite a terrific senior season in which he threw for almost 4,300 yards and 43 TDs while completing 69% of his pass attempts in the toughest conference in the country, Trask’s grade has taken a hit in recent weeks such that he is no longer even considered an opening round candidate. No doubt Trask was hoping that a strong week at the Senior Bowl might stop the bleeding and get him back on an upward track. Meanwhile, at least two other players have also been ruled out of this week’s Senior Bowl by injuries including Georgia safety Richard LeCounte and Vanderbilt DE Dayo Odeyingbo. Practices at the Senior Bowl get underway tomorrow after the official weigh-in with the actual game slated to KO on Saturday at 2:30 PM.
