Five LSU Tigers enter draft; others too … While the national championship celebrations continue in the bayou, 5 LSU underclassmen have announced that they will not be back to defend their title next fall, but rather will enter the 2020 draft. The five include FS Grant Delpit, WR Justin Jefferson, LBs Jacob Phillips and Patrick Queen, and C Lloyd Cushenberry. Delpit is considered to be a mid-first round prospect, while Cushenberry, Jefferson and the two LBs are second day candidates. At the same time, Clemson junior WR Tee Higgins, another potential early second day prospect, has also announced that he will be turning pro. Meanwhile, other juniors to announce within the past 24 hours or so that they will be entering the draft include RBs Toren Young of Iowa and Monmouth’s Pete Guerrerio, the 2nd FCS player to enter the draft, and Rutgers OLB Elorm Lumor, although none is more than a later round or free agent type prospect. On the other hand, Mississippi State RB Kylin Hill has announced that he has withdrawn his name from this year’s draft and instead will return to school for his senior campaign next fall. Underclassmen have until the end of business on Friday to file paperwork with the NFL in order to be eligible to be selected in the upcoming draft.
