Clemson posts pro day numbers … Pretty good sized crowd at the Clemson Pro Day earlier today. For the record, the school has published their ‘official’ numbers from the workout. Star RB Travis Etienne, for example, measured in at a solid 5-10, 215, which is a good size for a guy with his speed and explosion. According to the school data, Etienne timed in the 4.42 range for the 40, with scouts from several teams they had him in around 4.45. That included a 1.56-second ten-yard split that would have been middle of the pack at last year’s combine. According to reports from the pro day WR Cornell Powell also looked good. He was a chiseled 6-0, 204, had a 36.5″ vertical and timed in the low 4.5 range for the 40. Fellow WR Amari Rodgers also timed in the low 4.5 range for the 40, but wasn’t as quick or as athletic in some of the other drills. And at 5-9.5, 212, which is a bit of an odd-size for a wideout, Rodgers was also asked by some teams to participate in some of the RB positional drills. On the other hand, OT Jackson Carman did not work out today presumably because of some injury and instead will workout at a private on-campus on April 15th. For the record, Carman, a second-day candidate, measured in at 6-4.5 and 317 pounds, but with only 32.5″ arms, which is less than ideal and could have some teams looking at him more as an OG prospect.
