Draft watch: Friday the 13th

October 13, 2017

ESPN has a doubleheader this evening with defending national champion Clemson playing at Syracuse at 7 PM ET and California hosting 8th ranked Washington State at 10:30 PM ET. And with much of the Giants focus shifting to the future and the draft, there are a couple of players worth an extra look in tonight’s games. Clemson junior DE Austin Bryant (#7, 6-5, 265), for example, has emerged as one of the more disruptive edge rushers in college football this fall with 5 sacks and 11 total tackles for loss through 6 games. Meanwhile, QB Luke Falk (#4, 6-3, 225) is the headliner for Washington State, but the Cougar the Giants might be interested in, especially on the second day is All-America OG Cody O’Connell (#76, 6-8, 365), just maybe the best offensive lineman in the country. O’Connor quite literally blocks out the sun, but he also moves really well and gets tons of reps in pass protection in the high-octane WSU offense.
