Draft order, picks by teams updated

Draft order, picks by teams updated … Just a little housekeeping in the wake of the latest big trade affecting the 2016 draft as the full 7-round selection order and the picks by team file have been updated. Of note, with the acquisition of the other picks from Philadelphia, Cleveland now has 12 picks at this year’s draft, tying them with San Francisco for the most picks. Included in the Browns’ stash of picks are the first two picks in the 4th round which means Cleveland’s phones could be ringing prior to the start of the third-day selections. Meanwhile, Philadelphia now has just 7 picks with only two coming in the first four rounds. With the second pick, the Eagles, of course, are expected to take whichever of QBs Carson Wentz of North Dakota State or Cal’s Jared Goff Los Angeles passes on with the #1 pick. Meanwhile, in what is considered to be a 8-10 player draft this year, the Browns also figure to still get a shot at very good player at #8. Assuming, for example, that Wentz and Goff, indeed, go first and second next week, and that Florida State Jalen Ramsey and Ole Miss OT Laremy Tunsil are pretty much locks to go in or very near the top 5, then by definition at least one of Ohio State DE Joey Bosa and/or RB Zeke Elliott, Oregon DT DeForest Buckner and UCLA OLB Myles Jack will still be on the board at the 8th pick. Of curse, its also a very real possibility that the Browns could be tempted to take Memphis QB Paxton Lynch at that point as more than one scout will tell you he’s actually a better prospect than Goff. Stay tuned; should be a fun week!
