Dismissed Canes LB to enter draft

Dismissed Canes LB to enter draft … Former Miami OLB Jermaine Grace, who was dismissed from the Hurricanes football team one week before the start of the season, has decided to enter the 2017 draft, rather than transfer for his final year of eligibility. Grace was dismissed from the Hurricanes along with DE Al-Quadin Muhammad for violating NCAA rules in a highly publicized luxury car-rental case. Grace could have sought reinstatement by the NCAA and under the graduate transfer rule transferred to another FBS program for the 2017 season. In fact, despite being kicked off the team, Grace remained on scholarship at Miami and is expected to graduate in December; he will also reportedly be allowed to participate in the ‘Canes Pro Day in March. Grace, who led Miami in tackles in 2015 with 79, is somewhat undersized at 6-1, 221, but he can really run and could get some late round or free agent consideration next spring.
